Keep calm, it'll be grand!

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

The Irish version of a popular British slogan.

I rather like it.

I was in Cyprus once, visiting relatives, and pushing a young cousin of mine on a tyre swing hung from a eucalyptus tree (this was in a whole grove of eucalyptus trees, where we were camping: it smelled divine). She was worried she'd hit the trunk. "Ah no," I told her, "you'll be grand."

"Why do you say /grand/ all the time?" she asked.

I hadn't realised I did. It seems that, despite my BBC Radio 4 accent, I have picked up some things from my home country.

August means Discworld Convention!

Post 147

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office

And a rather wonderful con it was too. One of the odd side effects of Discworld conventions is that I spend more time on Facebook in the lead-up and the aftermath. Catching up on news and photos.

My own photos don't go on Facebook.

Just because.

I tried for this as my next line, but the older skins don't support the characters, so I settled on something in ASCII instead. I'll maybe try thas again once the changeover to the new system goes through. In the meantime, if you can't read this, try it in Pliny. (I hope it'll come out alright, though I'm posting it in Plain.)
