I was going through a run of silly name tags. I used that till yesterday evening, when I logged on and saw my entry on the front page (with a picture!). So I immediately changed my name to "On the front page! (That's Monday, in case I don't get around to changing my name back.)", but didn't log the change here.
I've now changed it again.
The Entry in question: A16407173:
Atmospheric Pollution from the Internal Combustion Engine in the Urban Environment, by me and Big Al, edited by Wyatt.

You can't imagine howe many attempts at reading your entry I've taken - I never got further than tothe first header, but one day, I'll find the silence and time to go on ( and try to understand what I'm reading).
Yur current tagline rings a bell, but I don't know what it is.

Is it something? I just made it up on the spur of the moment, in reference to having my Entry on the front page yesterday. It might be a quote from somewhere, though.
My list of tag lines to use in the future is on my own computer, which has been crashing more often than working reently, and is now in for repair. I'm on my dad's at the moment.

My Entry is a recycled college assignment. It's good information, and is (I think) well structured, but I accept that it lacks zest. I'll try to do better next time.
Good luck with reading it. Let me know what you think when/if you get there. I must own up to not reading nearly enough of the EG.

Don't keep your breath, TriG, I'm so busy with all my voluntary jobs and writing my own entries, that it could take a while before I'm really relaxed enough to read yours. Imust admi, though, that the subject is interesting, it's just when I see things like:
NO2 --> NO. + O.
O. + O2 --> O3
O3 + NO. --> O2 + NO2
or
CH4 + O. --> H3C. + HO.
H3C. + O2 --> H3COO.
CH4 + HO. --> H3C. + H2O
H3COO. + NO --> H3CO. + NO2
H3COO. + NO2 --> CH3OONO2
that I lose confidence. I'm into languages (as you may be able to tell), not into natural sciences.

You can actually skip those bits without losing much. Without loosing anything important, actually. I like them, but then, I love algebra, geometry, and calculus. It's all the same part of the brain. So's pedantic grammar, I think.

That was fun, wasn't it?

For a change, a name tag which was actually relevant (if only slightly) to something on site. It had been fun to have my Entry on the front page. Over now. And I still haven't started writing another yet.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Dec 12, 2006
I'd be surprised if even Trig could write an entry in a moment.
But I've written quite a few in less than half an hour.

It's not a competition. You write what you feel like writing, about a subject you feel you can shed some light on.
That was fun, wasn't it?

That's it, exactly. If I don't feel the urge to write, I'll not get anywhere. There are a few things that I think I'd maybe write about a some point, but so far, I ended up writing about completely different things.

Phew. Got my computer back in working order. That's a good start. But the technician told us he'd recovered a lot more data than he actually had. I'm actually missing quite a lot. More fool me for not backing up more often and more thoroughly.

Does this mean we'll have the pleasure of your presence here again?
When my laptop broke about a year ago, I lost all data.

Anything important? Anything heartbreaking? I lost a pile of photos, but I have them on CD too, so that's no harm. There are a few bits and pieces I want back, though.
I've been around anyway, on my dad's computer. But yes, I may be more active from my own now.
It's a glorious day outside, and I'm off for a walk.
See you.

What did they do?
Sorry, I didn't find your last post before now. All my photos were lost, emails, email addresses, notes for entries, everything. I now have an online photoalbum to store photos in, and an email addy which I can reach from wherever I am, so that's the email addresses saved, too.
