I would hazard a guess that I am about to launch into a topic which is close to just about every reader's heart. System Crashes. Those times when your PC decides it will stop being a wonder of technology; stop being a tool of ones trade; stops being a source of entertainment and instead adopts the stance of a tetchy three year old in a supermarket. If a PC could have a tantrum it would take the form of a complete crash. Instead of a happy cloudy sky with Microsoft's logo sprawled across it, it displays something called a "C prompt" from which you are supposed to navigate your way back to reality. More frightening still is "Safe Mode" during which your PC fakes a headache rather the let itself be seduced by your frantic keyboard fumblings. If luck is on your side you have a chirpy PC helpdesk to assist you who will politely ask you to stop swearing and inform you that physical acts of violence on a PC rarely ever cure them. I have been a victim of such personal disasters on several occasions (I dare not say how many lest I have to edit this entry and increase the number each time). The latest of which accounts for the period of 5 weeks which has past since my last journal entry. As my wonderful and hugely inteligent workmate points out to me on a regular basis, "give me a pad of paper and some coloured pens anyday". Share and Enjoy - Misty.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
