Found this lying around . It desreves more readers.
Although I like the word patterns it wouldn't quite work without the ending it has. But with the ending it has....
It's a boomerang.

Wow, I like this a lot. Gives the impression that the writer could go on forever about this one jacket. Or whatever it is.
Nice find.

The author's Elvised, but who knows, they might turn up one day, so I want to that the best part of this is the sound of it and the pacing.
Perhaps it needs some tightening up in the paragraphs leading to the 'If I were an author' bit. And the phrase 'most curious xxxxx known to man' is one I've read too often and it fell a bit flat.
But I really enjoyed reading this. piece of nonsense-entertainment.

Hey, Jodan . Neat isn't it. It just gets to the point when you think it might just possibly _be_ going on forever, then turns around.

I thought this was a sad story. And maybe a little unkind to 'John'

i once read of an anthropological work (and i absolutely hate that i can't trace it) which is a description of a house, in excruciating detail - much more than this one. there's something about such microscopic description that when the point arrives, the reader is never sure whether they got it, they left it a few pages behind, or indeed if it will ever come.
this is classic. thank you for finding it.

Very glad to have dug it up for you db, it's good to see you again too .
'in France withOmelette aux Fines Herbes', I see why you might think it unkind. Your different take on it is interesting. You and I are making different assumptions as we read. For instance, I read affectionate teasing of 'John' in it. That his answer to the flights of fancy is simply to ignore the nonsense and that say it's not a jacket it's a sports coat, adds to that. I loved that bit.

Congratulations moleclaw . In hope that you'll return some time and read this, this is to let you know that John Wilmoth's Jacket (or more accurately John Wilmoth's Sports Coat) has been selected as an <./>underguide</.> entry.
Which means the jacket/coat will one day, in the not too distant future, be hung up on h2g2's front page .
An UnderGuide Gem Polisher will make any final revisions or tweakings needed (if you return in time, they'll consult over those) before creating the UG copy to link to the Front Page.
A is due John Wilmoth too, thanks for the read .
