Fifty one years ago today, at 1.32pm, my Mother gave birth to me.

At 1.32pm I gave her flowers and said my Thanks to her.

It's not an instant thing, getting over the death of someone you love. It will be worse on anniversaries, christmas, etc.

Sometimes it helps to actually talk about the person, because many people in RL refuse to do so, especially if they actually knew them; so it can feel like a double loss: the person themselves, plus the memories of them.

So, *if* it might help, tell us a bit more about your mum?

But if it isn't the right time, don't. It's a personal thing & everyone has their own method of trying to cope with it. But certainly you have friends on here who are sending out stuff; you're not completely alone m'dear.

Tomorrow will be a bit better, it won't be the actual date any more.

They are not truly gone who live on in our thoughts.

I have not lost a parent yet, but one of the greatest inspirations to me is my grandfather, who died a few years back now. His life is an example and model to me, and someone who I still think of on a regular basis.

Doesn't matter the money, the possesions, the job or anything like that you have in life. What survives you is others memories of you. By remembering her with love you are paying her the highest compliment. And ensuring that what she stood for, and what she was is not forgotten.
