Hi there skyblueflyer, I'm one of the ACEs or assistant community editors here. We pop in to greet/welcome the recent registrants & give them some directions for getting around the site. Before I go too much further, could I offer you a; , , , , , , or anything? Those're just a few of what we call <./>smileys</.> (there're also , , , , etc). You can click on that link to puruse a long list of 'em, divided into categories. I believe you're able to print that out for easy reference, but you can also just type smileys into the search window to refer back to it anytime.
Since you're reasonably new, you can check out the 'I am new, what do I do now?' page @ A868098 , or the 'Welcome page' @ A53146 . Now, some options for decorating your space, are; 'spicing up your age' @ A690518 , 'the GuideML clinic' @ A187229 , or the 'picture gallery' @ A692741 .
A couple of my esteemed ACE colleagues have compiled comprehensive lists to assist new researchers. Shea's List is @ A534953 , while Feisor's List of Links is @ A719840 . I believe one of Feisor's suggestions is getting out & meeting people. So with that in mind I'm extending an invitation to visit my space/page at some point, simply click on my underlined nickname at the top of this message, or U202717 , my 'user number' or registration #.
In any case, good to have you onboard, so to speak, I hope you become as fond of the place as I have...we're quite a friendly bunch, so you shouldn't have much trouble settling in. Look forward to seeing you around, eventually. Bye for now *waves*
