I think this is a superb idea for a collaborative entry, and by the looks of things you have plenty of people willing to pitch in. Well done, B!
I'd like to suggest a short section on influences ('Roots', maybe?). Clearly Joel was drawing on Bob Dylan's 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' in constructing the song, and probably John Lennon's 'Gove Peace a Chance' as well. There's also room to suggest he was at least aware of the similar section in Madonna's 'Vogue'.
