Hi Peter
Have a shufti at my 'Day Leave in Rome' (A1941383).
Once the May 5 deadline is reached begins I'm looking forward to seeing what you and a few of the others actually look like!
Best wishes
Ron

Hello Ron,
You want to see what we look like, easy, take away the pipe and put Cairo, Larnaca or Tel Aviv and you would have about all of us. I am sure I was issued with your old KD's when I went out there a long time after.
Is some one going to explain how you did that or are we all left to guess. I may be a twinkle fingers shades of the piano on the keyboard but some of those strange icons buttons and knobs leave me in a quandary, which do I press next.
Looking forward to a bevy of look alikes coming up just change the scenery. I guess the forces did unify us all in the end, we lost that battle.
Regards Frank.

Hi Frank
It's not my fault they made me the guinea pig!
You're quite right of course, and our proud parents would have had lots of photos like these cluttering the sideboard ready to bore all visitors.
Unfortunately for you I've got lots of snaps like these in my album and over the next few few weeks you're going to be lumbered with even more views of foreign parts.
Your only defence is to retaliate so start scanning and up-loading your own masterpieces.
Best wishes
Ron

Hello Ron,
There you have me, I must sit and suffer. Not being a wartime soldier I cannot bore you with my look alike snaps.
I do look forward to more of yours and other wartime veterans. If ever they get to the stories of us postwar warriors believe it I will inundate the site.
It is good that we can put faces to names as it will tone down those who say the whole site is one big scam. You and I have had our names on from day one but we could now see what some of those strange "nom de guerre's" look like.
Lets have it then, Being kissed by a Camel, climbing the Pyramids and standing outside those strange entertainment palaces in Port Said, let us see how many we match years apart.
Glad to know I had a twin,
Regards Frank.

Hi Ron,
The light has dawned. I did wonder at Peter's FAVOURITISM, a little bird has just told me it does not happen until the 5th May how did you swing that.
I am wondering whether a discreet bag of Sheckels change hands or are they starting with the good looking ones then working up to us handsome fellows.
What ever it will be a great asset to the site one picture is worth a thousand words. Not my saw that one I prefer to savour the words myself.
Any way Ron nice to see you.
Regards Frank.

Hi Frank and Peter,
I suppose I'll have to come clean and settle with you. I'll give you half of what the WW2 team paid me to try their new baby out (what's half of nothing by the way?).
The simple truth is that Paul wanted someone who knew the difference between a jpeg and a clothes peg to see how the system was going to work when it went live.
On a serious note, it looks as if it IS going to work OK but I'm not quite sure of the editing that has been imposed.
I'm also sorry that it only allows one image per story as this involves some soul searching to choose the best one to accompany the text.
Did you like the pipe?
Ron

Hello Ron,
"Aha" so that is what it was, a "Pipe" I did wonder.
My mind went over Piat, Bazooka, Panzerfaust or Panzershreck among other Hollow Charge Weapons. Of course it could have been the last of your breakfast sausage.
The parsimony of the BBC is well known, I hear Paul Helen and Penelope send the cap round at the end of the month to get a suppliment to their salaries.
Joking aside (Hey who was joking) Sorry that is my little "Westy" Benji he has his own opinions. I do think that putting photo's on the site will stop a lot of the speculation and it is nice to see to whom we talk.
I do not know about the editing you talk about but all will become clear on the 5th May. As to soul searching you are right, with us handsome chaps it is a case of, the one with the Bouffant hair do or the Clean cut military style.
Must duck out now, Lunch with my children and grandchildren, I must have done something right.
Regards Frank.
