Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again. Started conversation Jun 9, 2005
Someone (I think it was GalaxyBabe) posted a couple of links to some stuff on Doctor Who. It was mildy amusing, despite the fact I don't really care much about him, and so I followed a link on one of the pages to see if I could find a little more info.
I got to this page: http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=630272005
And noticed the following a little lower down:
"Salisbury: Police are investigating sightings of a mysterious creature which has been spotted prowling the local streets.
Described as a cross between a kangaroo, a leopard, a monkey and a cat, at least four sightings have been reported to police, who have alerted Wiltshire Wildlife and Salisbury Wildlife Rescue, in the last month.
Nicki Lomas, 23, first spotted the animal at midnight on May 6. She said: "It looked like a leopard. It was very big with a yellow and black tail." "
I can't imagine what this thing must look like. A large kangaroo-leopard-monkey-cat, with a yellow and black tail?
Can anyone draw me a picture?

Considering the inhabitants of Cardiff recently mistook a fox with a bad leg for a kangeroo I expect it will just turn out to be a cat

i have a hard time picturing that too......
i cant quite decide what parts of which animal to use... i mean does it have a kangaroos tail? or does it just stand like a kangaroo, ect.
i havent a clue...... strange and interesting though

I keep thinking of a kangaroo and a fox side by side... there are so many differences! Even /apart/ from the fact there's a good metre and a half of height difference!

I don't suppose many people in thhis country have seen a kangeroo apart from briefly in a zoo or on TV
When you consider how unreliable people are as witnesses or how many people convince themselves a weather balloon or whatever is a I don't think its so surprising

often 2 people who witnessed a crime will give quite different discriptions of the people involved
we're also very open to suggestion
thats why it is very hard to get a conviction nowadays without corrobarative evidence like forensics

Well I was a little strapped for cash so I washed the windows for my mum. I did such a good job of it a little blue tit flew straight into the grass and broke its neck. The part that made me feel guilty was that it didnt die instantly it was rolling around in pain with its neck cocked to one side trying to die and I didnt want to commit acts of euthanasia against a bird.
Which is weird because Id gladly euthanise every human I have met.
Save a couple.

I see. Well it's not like you did anything wrong then. The bird just happened to fly into the wrong place at the wrong time.

Putting the fun back into funerals too, it seems.
I've done that too (with the windows I mean). Poor birds.
