Hello Ron,
Well done you have the record.
Talk about uniformity we all looked very much of a sameness in those shapeless clothes yet thought ourselves Peacocks.
I do remember being the cock of the north when we got an issue of Canadian battle dress and shirts when I was transferred from Infantry to REME. It only lasted until I arrived in Port Said then it was back to scratchy stuff again.
I am still working out what that truck was in Austria it looks like a MAN but could be Skoda derivative.
Oh well it will be in a museum now like everything else I drove.
Feeling my age today Ron, must be the lousy weather.
Regards Frank. smiley - blacksheep

Hi Frank
One day, when I have time, smiley - smiley, I will work out when all of us wierdies go on net to 'chat' to each other. Take me, for instance (did I hear Tom say 'Yes Please!')
My routine is fairly constant.
I wake at 4.30, am usually up by 5.00 and breakfast by 6.00
The time is now 0645.
I have had breakfast and am just about to do my constitutional which consists of a 3 mile brisk walk in Trent Park which is just 12 minutes away from my home.
In deference to she who must be obeyed I never, or rarely, touch the computer between 6pm and midnight (turning in time).
This morning I will return to the computer at about 9 am and will browse for about an hour or so.
Three days a week I go out to spend a few hours with
1. A friend, to whom I'm teaching computer tactics
2. Another friend who is house-bound
3. A charity for which I enter stuff on their database.
I also act as a help-line for various friends who get stuck with various problems.
All in all, the day is never long enough particularly when the company is so good.
We will talk more another time
Regards
Ron

Hello Ron,
Date Time: 04/07/04 11:52 up here in the land of the midnight sun. Well we have seen the Aurora Borealis on clear nights. smiley - magic
It is raining and the job list is all outdoor so I am on and here is the routine which would on normal days be as follows.smiley - surfer
Awaken around 07:30 shower and have a slice of porridge duly enhanced with treacle and cream from a rock like to a more malleable consistency even though I have my own teeth.
My Westy Benji then lines me up in the direction of the door and we disappear no matter what the weather for at least one hour usually more in the summer. It is a social event where we often walk in groups discussing the merits of various dog foods for the front entry and doggy bags for the rear exit. smiley - hotdog
We discuss the world events and sometimes fight off unwanted attention from the Amorous Widow smiley - rose
or a rather happy or is that gay chappy, well he is always smiling! at the men?
So to the list which is endless prepared by Her Who Shall Be Obeyed. smiley - run
Lunch time sandwich and the computer while I check out the e-mail and answer the many I get from distant members of the family and friends in other parts of the world.
smiley - planet I at odd times get to check the site.
More from the endless list plus Tomato plants needing TLC smiley - tomato another long walk with my rear guard Benji.
Then sometime after three if I am lucky I get to read and browse the site until my Son comes in from work and takes over the computer until midnight.
By that time I need my beauty sleep smiley - sleepy so the time on here in summer is very sparse. Winter the Wife's list can go on the back burner so I do get more time for the machine only I have Computer School.
There are also Daughters requiring my services as child minder school run operative odd job man and oftime cook come bottle washer.
I hope to retire in around ten years time and take it easy for the period up to the Queens telegram year, by my reckoning I will have earned it. smiley - wow

Ron.
My Granddaughter Rachael is in America helping at Summer School in a Jewish camp. She mailed me today and said she has learned a lot of the prayers already, if she does not say them with the kids they will not say them. She is of course Gentile, there is hope for the world Ron a far cry from our time. smiley - peacedove
Regards Frank. smiley - blacksheep
