well...NOAA came published the midseason updated prediction for the current hurricane season...they're still predicting an above-normal season...but quite as above normal as they were predicting in May...
I've been watching the tropical waves come off the african coast and as of late there's been more of them that survive longer (which is an indicator that we're entering Cape Verde season...which during the peak of hurricane season...cape verde tropical waves (which pass just south of the cape verde islands) are generally more likely to develop...so the season becomes more active during these periods and more major hurricanes occur...a perfect example of which is Ivan of 2004)...right now there's a wave that is looking like it will at least become a depression and is headed towards the carribean...

technically I've had a truck since I was 16 as my dad gave me his truck...but it's a standard transmission...and I've yet to learn to drive standard...not to mention that he drives it to work now that he doesn't have a company van...

So technically you couldn't borrow it from your dad due to all the above listed reasons....

So..well...thats a bit annoying!

How does driving ed work there? If I understand it correctly, you get taught at school how to drive?

well...sorta...in highschool it's a class...what I did was help to train the driver's ed teachers...and in the process got to basically take the actual driving part of the class for free...I didn't take it in highschool...so I've no clue how it works in actuality...

We don't have that here. Driving is taken outside the school with companies. They're expensive though

I think we have some of those as well...not sure...

We have to take a written test as well as a practical test

All so complicated now

There may be other tests added on - been a while since I did mine....

we still have to take a multiple choice test for out permit and a practical test for the liscense...that's seperate from the class...the class is optional...if you take the actual class you can get lower insurance rates and stuff supposedly...

My mom was afraid of getting in a car with me so she hired a driving instructor. I'm proud to say that it wasn't me that killed him as much as it was his weak heart.
