Well, at times like this (when describing the public transportation in Stockholm) you almost sound a bit wistful - and you seem to have some fond memories of Sweden...

Ever thought about working for the Swedish Tourist Board?smiley - silly

Yep! I could!

One of my collegues today was saying that she is going to her sister's wedding in Jukkas Jarvi next February, and I was more excited about it than she is!

It grieves me that my country cannot run a railway service, let alone a coherent Public Transport System.

I cannot remember if I thanked you properly for the Citron Peppar. Z has now converted one of his colleagues to the cause!

Oh blimey - does this mean I'll be carrying loads of citronpeppar each time I visit a London meet-up?smiley - tongueout

Although I must admit I've been thinking of attending one of the regional meets in the future rather than the London one - it's grown so big that it's easy to overlook someone. A bit of a disappointment to discover afterwards that someone that you would have loved to have a talk with was there, but you didn't notice...

I think we had a lifetime's supply with the last lot!

I do know what you mean - I've met Agapanthus at a meet, but not actually talked with her. smiley - sadface

It would be great if you could make the Seville Orange. smiley - smiley

Currently, the easiest way (with the least number of changes along the way, and fairly inexpensive too) seemt to be to fly to London with Ryanair, and then a direct flight to Sevilla.

I was rather disappointed when I discovered that there are no direct flights from Stockholm to Sevilla - worse even is the fact that there are no direct flights even to Malaga...

Teuchter sorted out some very cheap flights flying BA from Gatwick, which is about 20 miles south of London. (Stansted is about 25 miles north of London). We are going out on the Thursday before, and back on the Tuesday afterwards, paying about £78 return. Mind you, there might be cheaper flights from Stansted itself, which is the home of cheap flights in the UK.

When is it the Seville one is again (if you'll pardon me for butting in...). I have mentally made a note of it once...

Not sure if you know about this thread, but thought that you might (or might not) be interested:

Deeply amused. I couldn't resist texting him the link to the other thread. It got positively hagiographic in there for a while.

Thanks for the link, it was only chance that I saw the first thread and I missed this one entirely.

RJR is asking if it's difficult to learn Swedish. I wouldn't know myself, but I think you might. If you have the time and/or inclination to reply, his question can be found here:

Well, he'd have to sober up first.

Actually that might not be true - learning languages might be easier when you're drunk and the conscious mind isn't interfering.

I never applied myself to trying, so I'm not the best person to ask. Edward the Bonobo might have an informed opinion on the matter. I'm sure he'd willingly express it if he does.

Hmmm... you posted that you'd send me login details to your wedding pics but I'm not sure which e-mail address you sent it to.

If it's not too much trouble, could you please send it to teatania at gmail dot com?

This might be of interest - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00pf0kd

The audio link replaying the radio programme is good for a fortnight, apparently.

"The Kalevala: Finland's National Epic" - "Storyteller and musician Nick Hennessey travels to Finland to explore the mythical world of the country's national poem, The Kalevala.First published in 1835, this 50-chapter epic inspired a 19th-century artistic awakening and remains a cornerstone of contemporary Finnish culture. Speaking to musicians and critics, Hennessey finds out how the poem helped shape the nation."

Thank you, thank you, thank you!smiley - smooch

Getting a fresh approach might actually poke me into finally finishing off the dozens or so articles I have in my head regarding Kalevala.

Who am I kidding? I'm too emotionally involved into this whole thing to be able to write even a series of entries. Too close to home.

I wonder if I might be able to coerce Gnomon into writng something...
