Ben, I'm clearly out of my league here. The rest of the committee is always two or three steps ahead of me. The couple of areas in which I thought I could make a meaningful contribution were snapped up and developed before I had the chance to organize my thoughts. I've just spent today catching up on the last four days of postings. Whatever point I would have made has always been mentioned by the time I get there.

You all have my moral support and I'll keep up with developments as time allows. I wish I could be more productive.

I feel bad for not having volunteered but as I I work off an Apple Mac I can't do Word. I can however read through things and look for proper flow, punctuation and such via email. If it helps, you could send me whatever and I could go through it, fix what needs fixing then send it back. It could then be forwarded to someone else with the hardware and skills to do the whole 'Word' thing. It's not much but having a document that's already been vetted should, in theory, speed up the process. I'll put my address on My Space, that means here, not on 'My Space' as I don't have one nor a 'Facebook' account. Twitter? I can't even send a text so that's unlikely. I am a fan of 'Snail Mail' though, call me old fashioned if you will, I'm old school to the core.

Hey you'll be guaranteed some superb testimonials. Somehow, beside organising all the practicalities..you're keeping on board people from different countries, different outlooks, ways of thinking..various shades of lunacy and moodiness..need one go on?

I couldn't begin to imagine being able to do what you're doing. There'd be rows a plenty after 5 minutes. I just couldn't do it...especially in an *online situation*..that's what's especially impressive to me, the online context.

I don't know what sort of job you might want to apply for in the future and what the MSc might mean for it. In fact I hardly know a thing about you. But if needed I for one will take the time to try to write out something about this process and what you're doing however the bidding goes eventually. And in fact the impression given here of the organisation of h2g2 during this incredibly difficult time, may very well influence other bidders in any case.

Obviously the MSc is vital..and when this is over you'll get back to it. But people here won't forget.

I feel bad for being in the initial 'what can I do to help' crowd (or more accurately tell me what I must do) but early on I couldn't keep up with all the threads and now it sort of feels like when there is a fab drama series on the telly that everyone is talking about but you missed the first half of the series and don't stand a chance of ever catching up...

And realistically, I've spent all my free time at the hospital, husband and children, home, work and everything else has been neglected so it probably good that I didn't take on any major deliverables. But I do feel bad for not supporting you all more - you are doing a remarkable thing.
