I thought I ought to move my bleating about selling the house and all the other Big Scary Things I'm Doing Right Now out of Lil's and into their own space.
I'm not sure why house sales make me so nervous. I think I picked the habit of being nervous about the whole thing from my ex who was spectacularly bad at selling houses, from over-pricing them to start with to being a bit of a fool about negotiating minor things like fixtures and fittings. And he was completely absolutely terrified it would all fall through at the last minute.
Specifics in the next post.

My buyers are going in again today to measure up. Hopefully it'll be sunny. No need to be scared that they'll change their mind at all. I was obviously over-reacting when I noticed patches of damp on the chimney breast yesterday and was painting over them at 07:15 this morning.
There's a complicated situation with the sale of the garden which I co-own with two neighbours. We all need to sign a deed of transfer, but one of my neighbours is going to be sailing his boat around the Scottish Islands for a month leaving tomorrow morning. No phone, no radio, no way to contact him. (That's the point, really). Thank GOODNESS I forgot my work badge this morning, went back to get it, and asked him when he was leaving. I then dropped into the solicitors on the way to work and thanks to the magic of e-mail I'll be able to pick that bit of paperwork up tonight. But....
I also need to book a date and time for an inspector to come round and do a restrospective building regs approval on the double glazing.
And then there's the drains. I can't really bring myself to talk about the drains.
Or the insurance claim that goes with the drains.
Or my work situation.
Or my job hunting.
Or the Other Thing that's Worrying Me right now.
Time to put Nina Simone on a loop I think to get the whole bloody lot into proportion.

Oh, goodness, the lady at the Building Regs office said my address straight back to me when I rang and said what my name was...
Onwards and onwards.

Eeep! And the Building Regs man is coming to inspect the windows TODAY! I've asked the lady to rearrange him to any time next week, and I'll be there.
How nice of them to be so quick, and how exasperating of them not to tell me.

Therapy thread? What therapy thread?

*slurps gratefully*
I am aware that there is nothing actually *wrong* in my situation, and that I am making a huge big fuss over nothing.

MMmmmm.
But as Nina says:
I got my hair, I got my head
I got my brains, I got my ears
I got my eyes, I got my nose
I got my mouth, I got my smile
I got my tongue, I got my chin
I got my neck, I got my boobs
I got my heart, I got my soul
I got my back, I got my sex
I got my arms, I got my hands
I got my fingers, Got my legs
I got my feet, I got my toes
I got my liver, Got my blood

You are making a big fuss over a highly anxiety-inducing situation that would make anyone feel stressed.
Moving house and changing jobs are both on the list of most stressful things one can do and you are doing them all at once so it is perfectly understandable.
In a few months it'll all be over and done with and you'll be ensconsed with your husband and will have a better idea of what happens next

That will be me ing him. He's very
ish.
FINALLY after 2 months got the answer to the insurance / drains question.
1) The insurance won't cover the works (I had come to expect that)
2) The drains company appointed won't do the works (despite assurances on Monday that they would)
So I am back where I was on the 18th of flipping March.

However the drains company are going to try to find a local Saniflow engineer who can do the works, and we'll have to take it from there.
It'll be expensive, but cheaper than losing the sale.

Saniflow plumber coming out tomorrow between 1:00 and 2:00.
*tries hard not to be angry that we could have been at this stage 8 weeks ago because to some extent it's my own fault we're not*
