h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It was PE (physical education/gym/student abuse) in my day at school.

It was a Mile Day, where we have to run 1.6 kilometers, part of it uphill. This means that part of it is also downhill, but I don't think about that as often.

Anyway, the problem was that usually, yesterday isn't the day of the week where we run the mile. Usually we just have to jog around inside the Gym for ten minutes, then run sprints.

I was daydreaming. I was thinking, in fact, about what I was going to eat when I got home from school, as I hadn't been able to have lunch.

Before I go on to say what happened, I need to tell you that three classes are in the gym at one time, but only one class goes outside to run the mile at a time.

By this point you know what's going to happen.

Two of the classes went to jogging for ten minutes, and my class went outside to run the mile.

That is, everyone but me went outside to run the mile.

I was too busy thinking about noodles and bread and peanut butter to hear.

I went on with the other two classes to jogging for ten minutes.

I didn't notice that my class was gone.

That is, until a long-haired boy from my computer science class (From where I happen to be typing this. I've finished all my work. The boy in question is sitting to the right of me.) Stopped in front of me and said,

"Didn't your class leave to run the mile?"

I thanked him for possibly saving my life, went outside, and was allowed by my teacher to start the mile then.

So happy ending, but I'm still scared for life.

What is the name of this military camp you are living in?

Do they not know what we could do to them if they do not play nice?
