The "policeman" bit refers to the punctuation police, a group on-site. smiley - winkeye Basically, I point out apostrophe abuse in edited entries and suchlike...

I'm getting "into" Enterprise; the first series was better than I expected, and the second series sounds pretty cool too. Have you ever explored http://www.startrek.com ? It's usually pretty entertaining, although at the moment it's a bit overloaded with hints and trailers for the upcoming movie. smiley - ufo

So, how long have you been on the "Guide"?

If you want to find a lot of chatty people, I recommend paying a visit to The Manifesto for the Campaign to rename Thursday, "Thing" over at A516647 and joining in the "No no no!" conversation - as far as I know, it's the longest conversation on the Guide... smiley - ok

Take the time to wander round a few of the articles too - just stick a couple of words into the search engine that interest you, and see what other researchers have written on the subject. This place is *huge* - it may take a couple of days for you to get a sense of the full size and diversity of it all. It's worth the effort... smiley - smiley

I'm 40. I hang out around the "No no no!" thread most evenings. The folk there are just... odd... smiley - weird

Sorry if I'm taking a long time to reply; I'm working on designing a web page at the same time. H2G2 was never really designed for real-time chat... smiley - erm

fyi, I've been a researcher here for 3 years and 5 months, so I know my way around reasonably well now. smiley - geek
