I'm doing my log on half an IBM Thinkpad today, borrowed for the Xmas holidays... I'm still at home, but setting this up so I can use it at my Mum's house to stay in touch with the world at large...

I went to see about that job, and it looks like it's mine if I want it... I'm not sure that I do want it, though - there are a few "disincentives", not least of which being expected to work 5 days a week in a place with no toilet! I'll see how things pan out after Xmas... smiley - smiley

Half a laptop, eh? I suppose it fits on one knee. smiley - smiley Is it without a screen or something?

Yup - it's an IBM Thinkpad P133 that had the screen torn off and the keyboard broken. Andy fixed all the keys except the Return, which was lost, and I built a new Return key from the plastic flap on a 1Litre carton of orange juice... smiley - smiley

I had a 10" IBM colour VGA monitor lying around doing nothing, and just dragged that along too, along with my external modem...

LOL... nice return key. smiley - smiley Similar to my delete and on/off keys which have actual orange juice in them, thanks to my niece. smiley - smiley

I have a friend who uses a screenless PowerBook 165 to syncronise all his other Macs' clocks to NASA and tell him when he's meant to do stuff. Screenless doesn't mean useless. smiley - smiley
