h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Interesting morning, this morning. I have been up for a while, watching the traffic outside my window, and listening to the world around me. It's quiet and peaceful. Quiet and peaceful enough that even my normally rather obtuse housemate seems to have noticed, and I can type away without being disturbed by the radio, or the telephone, or television being on in the background, or people who I didn't invite here singing in my ear. All these things typically happen during the day, but today I was in the lounge room first, and at the right time to make my housemate self-conscious about disturbing me. I wonder whether it could always be so simple?

Friday the 13th is a rainy Friday morning. It's miserable outside, but because it's Spring people are inclined to be forgiving about such minor inconveniences. I've had to clear out the cupboard which was in my room for taking away by my parents, today, for delivery to my brother - whose cupboard it actually is. No great loss, in that I didn't keep an awful lot in the cupboard, but at least Mum and Dad are bringing up an old hanging rail so I can hang up the things which were in the cupboard which need hanging, and the built-in cupboard in my room won't become too full. Mum and Dad are bringing a ‘food parcel' as well, so I can hopefully afford to spend some money on other things beside food this week - like bills, for example...!
