Today I finally got the lawn mowed. This is probably not so much of an achievement as it sounds, although I did have to clean a lot of rubbish out of the grass to enable me to do it without jamming the lawnmower on bits of plastic and McDonalds wrappers. It was a beautiful day, though - sunny, bright and calm, with a hint of a breeze to disperse the hot air which gathered round the eaves. Spring has now evidently truly sprung. Even the forecast rain and misery for the day was not forthcoming.

The world has turned, and now it's just a matter of making things happen. My horoscope for the week assures me that the time is at hand where I might be somewhat less than completely broke, but I've yet to see any evidence that this is what's on the line. My bike is bust - the pedal cog has come loose in its bearings and is grating round the frame. It will be Monday before the bike shop can do anything about this, although they have assured me that the Shimano warranty should cover the repairs. Typical that this should happen on the one sunny Sunday of the winter.

The big question for the evening is whether to include cabbage in tonight's mushroom risotto. I think not - the mushrooms and garlic and onions are probably enough to make a reasonably nutritious meal.

I'm feeling really short-tempered at present. I don't really know why, it just feels that way. Maybe ‘making things happen' I feel to be beyond me, although logistically this doesn't seem to be the case. I hope I can hold my water, because I don't want to cause a scene - it's hard enough keeping my mind on the jobs which are there to be done.

The longest journey begins with but a single step, young Skywalker...

Hmm. I may have confused my sources... Ah well.

Very confused...smiley - tongueout!

How are you, oh bubsterous magnificence? I have taken the first step, I think, but the cure is a long way off.

Cabbage DOES work all right with mushroom risotto, incidentally (I just love having GREENS in my dinner)...smiley - winkeye
