Weird weekend. Fun weekend, but a weird one.
24 hours of continuous, albeit light, drunkenness, interspersed with a trip to hospital for a quick break, my first ever go at the Les Mills "Body Combat" routine, and two separate birthday parties. During all this time I have not stopped being sick with blocked sinuses, and my head is only now paying the price. For the first time in a couple of years I managed to go to bed with somebody else - three of my closest friends, in fact - but we all remained fully clothed (which is probably something of a relief!). Thank goodness for alcohol, and pain killers, in that order.
I am still sick, and now I must go back to finding another job.

I have an idea...
Maybe you could get a job as an extra in one of those hospital dramas. You could be the guy in the background laying on a gurney (with three of your closest friends, of course) complaining about what an awful head-cold you have.
Yes, yes. I think that would work.

Daisy - four on a gurney? Could get very crowded, and I might get popped out of bed and start sustaining REAL hospital-type injuries instead of just a head cold (and anyway, any doctor who looked at sleeping arrangements like that would just go "No bloody wonder!" and go about his/her business!).
Kate - which part are you planning on quoting? I have a huge good-guy, handsome devil image to protect here...!

OK Kate, I've done the background research, and I'm aware of some of the context! I didn't realise V-D was something to get bitter about...! My diary entry failed to mention it because I was honestly not aware that it was on. Don't worry, though, it's only a matter of time (that's what everyone keeps telling me, anyway!).
Suggested theme song for V-D: "The Jack" by AC/DC.
Hope you're feeling better by the time you read this...!

four on a gurney may get you injured...but wouldn't it be fun in the process?

Kate Posted Feb 15, 2000
I should think so, on both counts!
Hypoman - does the quote bother you? I'll take it off if it does, I just thought it was funny
I was referring more to the tale of your weekend than Valentine's Day when I first responded...in a matter of sentences you managed to capture and entire weekend and I was highly entertained

Keep the quote, Kate!
And yes, Daze, it would be enormous fun in the process - but then skydiving would be enormous fun until your parachute failed to open, too...!

Aww, Hypo, sounds like you need some of my Valium. *holds out bottle, hesitates, takes out a few, THEN holds out bottle*

Who's got more in her than in the bottle, presently!

Fenny, "get the bottle back into ya" is all I can say...
What are you doing on Valium, ultra-successful hardline political mastermind that we all know you to be? I've never actually had a Valium dose, myself: what's it like...?

Fenchurch M. Mercury Posted Feb 23, 2000
What am I doing on it? Well, you see, my ultra - successful mastermind is sometimes TOO BRILLIANT, even for ME! I've got to do SOMETHING to keep it at human levels! I'm sure other ultra - wonderful people such as yourself understand what I'm referring to!
Never had it? What's it like... well, seriously - *grabs bottle back* Don't ever start. It used to be fun for the minutes before I was completely knocked out, then it tamed down to rendering me comfortably numb, then a somewhat effective painkiller, and now if I haven't got it I'm uncomfortably tense. To put it mildly. Such as now. Evil!
Because she cares,
Fenny
