Happy Birthday, big cousin!

Don't worry... you weren't alone. I received, on the anniversary of my birth, one phone call and two e-cards, apart from the friendly greeting in this forum. My own mother didn't even call, and I'm not talking to her until she does. That's okay, I had a good time anyway. The phone call was from a cute-but-psychotic chick who likes me, and I took her out to dinner that night, and then we went over to my friends' house for drinks. Pleasant evening, overall.

Besides, I wouldn't have any way of knowing your birthday without advance warning from outside... out of the 18 cousins, I know exactly none. I wouldn't even remember when Grandma's birthday was except that your mom has been bludgeoning the date into my forehead. And that isn't even really the date, just the day we're going to celebrate it.

Bludgening? That's a bit of an understatement...well, at least for me, that is.

And Psycho Girl and myself are gonna go bowling together later in October for our typical combined birthday bash. Are you interested in going? I dunno the date yet, but both of us really want you to come.

P.S. She and Lord Lunatic wish you a happy birthday as well.

I'm honored that you want me along. Sure, I'd like to come. Just let me know when it will be... my little brother is going to be home for a few days in late October, so I'll be busy with him for a while, but as long as it isn't when he's home, I should be able to make it.

Footnote to that mom episode: she called last night. I didn't talk to her much, on account of the fact that I had gone to bed early. Anyway, she said that she tried calling on my birthday, but something was weird with my answering machine. My little bro made the same complaint, so there may be something to that.
