No, actually, I'm American. The sheep reference is more of a personal outlook on the rest of society. They're herd animals blindly following whatever lead the media or political leaders give them. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones who change their hair to look like the star of the new hit tv show. The ones who think Britney Spears and Ricky Martin have talent. The ones who cried harder over Princess Di's death than they did over their own grandmother's. To refer to them as sheep is actually an insult to sheep everywhere, since sheep are at least tasty with a bit of barbeque sauce.

You do realise that apart from the Princess Di bit, you've just described my 8 year old daughter and her friends !?!
I guess the problem is that some people never grow out of that stage. And the sad fact of the matter is that I have to deal with most of them on a daily basis at work!

Sheep are a huge problem when it comes to democracy. In the States, we have evolved a two-party system, and most of the country has chosen sides, like they were a football team. "My party is better than your party" and all that nonsense.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, maybe I'm no better. I root for the tiny "third" parties. I've always liked the underdog.

Hey GargleBlaster, I've just written a reply on your Failure of Christianity.. page, and I'd hate for you to miss it
I'm behind you all the way on the sheep thing, BTW. If I wasn't a Christian I'd start a program for the eradication of all 'sheep', but that's the more psychotic element of my personality making itself known.
The Princess Di thing was probably worse on this side of the Atlantic. (assuming you're in America, which I think I read somewhere). Most of us Britons have been hiding our heads in the sand in shame since, so appalled that our fellow Englishmen could be so stupidly sentimental. No offense to Di, but she had a much more happy and fulfilling life than many people who I could name and have recently died. Don't get me started!

Thanks for the info...I'm on my way to check it out.
I'm sure the Di thing was worse over there, but we in the States are disgusted with our overly-sentimental brethren for a different reason: we're supposed to hate royalty. But there is too much love of Disney here, and her marriage was too much of a rerun of Cinderella for some people to let go.

Cinderella...hmm...I must write a nice gory version of Cinderella for Peregrin's Fables. (blatant self-advertising of the type that really gets up my nose...)

The Brothers Grimm version is not quite so pretty, and that's where Uncle Walt nicked it from. I would read a gory version of it, though, because her time has definitely come.
