Agreed. I did a Netscape Shift Reload of this page. Yawn!!!!!!
I have had a fiddle with the image in the Gimp. The original was about 215k in size, this current one is just over 25k. Its amazing what you can do to an image size while mucking about with the jpeg saving routines. Still not quick, but better than it was.
I also altered and optimised two of the bigger animated gifs on my homepage, which were over 76k and 91k initially, and are now 21k and 26k. That ought to improve things.
I may undertake similar reduction methods for other images on my site.
Amazing bit of software, the Gimp.
As for the photo. Its the only picture of the Loch ness Abomination. Pictures of the Loch Ness Monster are common, but this is the only picture of the Loch Ness Abomination that I know of.
