So the mother in law arrived, so i hid the gin, but she brought her own ok I thought twice a year is ok I can deal with it, I am a man! So it was all going quite well until about 20.30 when she started to sing, not your quiet type but your full volume type, loud enough to stop the hens from laying, and the bloody songs too, "let me entertain you" was almost tolerable, as was nessen dorma,but then we had "tie a yellow ribbon round the old one tree"
I was just about to get the gun, but the misses stopped me! "JUst take it, its only twice a year" so i went down the pub! she was still at it 00.30 in the morning, christ i'm never going to let the "singing nun" back in, ever!

when my relatives get a bit tipsy as we like to say,
they start singing "oh Danny boy" or similar Irish(y) songs
perhaps preferable to "let me entertain you" but then I've never heard your mother in law sing?
can she hold a tune?
