I received a rather exciting phone call this evening. My brother and his girlfriend have just returned from a holiday in France and while they were in Paris, my brother proposed and she said yes!

I spoke to my brother agin last night and the exact location of his proposal was on the steps of the Sacre Coer - as if Paris itself wasn't romantic enough! What a sweetie he is.

I e-mailed a friend with the news and she replied with a memory of something embarassing that my brother did when he was about six years oldsmiley - laugh - I must remember to pass that on.

I've found out today that an ex-work colleague of mine is getting married soon - it's nice to know that love is in the air for some folkssmiley - smiley.

I think something is in the water - where can I get some?-
A former colleague of mine is going to say "I do" again, my cousin just got engaged, and a friend of my husbands is planning an impromptu (can you plan impromptu?) ceremony end of September......
Good thing it's only 3 weddings; otherwise I might have to go to a funeral too.

I've had an e-mail from 'the groom' today and the date is provisionally set for 23 December 2006, so that gives me 15 months to decide what to wearsmiley - biggrin. I've just been looking up their planned venue on t'internet and it looks nice, although I couldn't get the virtual tour thingy to work.

BB - I think the pink boots may be worn out by then - they've nearly had it now.

Do you think I should buy shoes first and then build an outfit around them then Sal?smiley - laugh

Congrats on your anniversary, btwsmiley - bubbly

I can't really be bothered to think about wedding outfits this far ahead. I don't like shopping for clothes (and certainly not shoes) at the best of times. I did pop into a well known clothing store whose name begins with 'N' this morning and tried on about half a dozen items, none of which fitted. So I went and bought some groceries and then came home - I'm easily discouraged when it comes to shopping.

My brother is a lovely bloke. There must be others like him out there somewhere - but where to find them?

My Future Sister-in-Law has sent me some photos of the wedding venue and it looks very swish. She has told my Mum that her parents are paying five grand for it!!!smiley - yikes I think my parents feel bad that they can't offer to contribute, but as they are both retired they really haven't got much spare cash. My Mum has some money stashed away in a savings account that she has been keeping for about ten years just in case my brother ever got married. She reckons she's got enough to pay for a wedding present, a new outfit for herself and suit hire for Dad. I think she's quite chuffed that she's finally going to get to spend itsmiley - laugh
