Quite right. We had thirty really old Macs at college. Okay, so they weren't perfect, but they did their job (word processing, etc). Then they got some shiny new pII 300s. There wasn't a single day went by without a quarter of these machines breaking down whilst the old Mac soldiered on. Of course, as I left there were plans to trash any computer over three years old in the name of "progress" (and, more then likely, tech-support's wage packets!)

Here at my lab, we are in the middle of upgrading too. I had to throw away a beautifully working 486/66. It almost brought tears to my eyes. Of course when you actually use computers for Computer Aided Design and image processing, you really can use the processor speed. I love those old computers though
