How could I resist?

But he can't stay there forever (seeing as he's way off topic!), so before I delete the story, you better have a look.

All the best,

Helen

Helen,
Now I know, it is what I suspected, you like me tear up rule books and do your own thing.
I loved it and have taken a quick print before it vanishes to show Benji.
I love the cheeky grin and it brings back wonderful memories of running up fields with a piece of rag on a string.
I do notice you have left off his cook bottle washer and general cleaner but I suppose all film stars do that.
Regards Frank.

Why spoil true beauty by including the sidekick in the shot, eh?

I can just see you as you were - with your string and rag flying behind you - and bruised, grass-stained knees no doubt.

We are off for our constitutional now. The fox den beckons.

Here's to you and Benji.

All best,

Helen

Helen,
Walking Benji this morning A car pulled up and a lady jumped out wrapped herself round my chest and burst into tears. Recovering from the shock I realised it was Pam who owned "Misty" a silver grey whippet. Pam said she had Died yesterday from a stroke. I managed to calm her down and it seems she had seen me, one of her walking talking doggy friends and could not hold herself any longer.
Misty was a beautiful dog and she fussed over me so I too will miss her.
She was 13 and a 1/2 so had a long well looked after life. Pam went off having eased her pain well leaving it with me actually. We dogs owners form good friendships even when we dont even know full names and our dogs reciprecate the love they know is there for them. Look after "X" as I look after Benji they give us a lot.
My Granddaughter looking at the print of "X" burst out laughing saying "X" marks the spot and we pictured you with a plastic bag on the end of your arm removing said spot.
Regards Frank.

How very sad. Beautiful Misty. Benji will miss her. But it sounds as if she had a long, much-loved life - dogs get it so good, in the right hands, of course.

You always know, don't you, that if someone loves dogs then they've got something right with them?

Tell your naughty granddaughter that the whippet not only marks the spot; he likes to kick dirt, old leaves, or whatever he can find all over it and race away at top speed - leaving me holding the plastic bag. Obviously a lot harder when he's dealing with pavements, but he still gives a little backward kick like Eric Morecambe singing 'Bring me Sunshine'.

We try to look after him - he gets far too many cuddles - but I have a definite feeling that he's a survivor (we got him from a rescue home), and if we weren't around he'd find some other softies to keep him in the style to which he is used!

Have a lovely weekend,

Helen, WW2 Team

Hi Helen,
How true that is, we dog owners are a truly noble bunch (Hang on, Bananas come in bunches).
Naughty Grand Daughter now twenty and waiting to go to Salford College on a government Bursary which she does not have to pay back. She had her face and name in the local paper as only two from up here to make it.
She still sits on my chair arm with her arm round my neck, it costs me money but love has no price.
Benji also kicks up a storm after his regular's I have to wait or get covered, not the best aftershave around.
Regards Frank.

Hi Frank

From my experience, naughtiness increases with age. Give your naughty granddaughter my congratulations, she's obviously on an onward and upward route, naughtiness included!

Best wishes,

Helen

Hi Helen,
Oh dear, no hope for me then.
Off to put in the Tomato plants, Benji waters them, it does not spoil the taste.
Regards Frank.

And possibly repels the bugs and beasties? Hm, I hadn't thought of that - two b's, one dog and tasty tomatoes.

My tomatoes are a bit high up, planted in pots. Whippets don't have that much reach! Nor do snails.

Best wishes,

Helen, WW2 Team
