OK, I have read all five books in the HHGG trilogy as well as Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and The Deeper Meaning of Liff, but the only TP books I have read are The Colour of Magic and Only You Can Save Mankind. Now, I feel that HHGG kicked the ass of TCoM, but on the other hand it seems that TP's quality managed to stay fairly cosistent whereas DNA's tended to wander a bit. You may accuse me of Heresy, but can you honestly say you liked Mostly Harmless as much as HHGG. for this reason, I'd say that DNA wins for best single books, but TP gets the prize for best overall quality.
