Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

Dear all,

I've been sadly neglecting my journal in recent months. This is a place where I can jot down all those interesting things that happen to me - does the lack of recent entries mean that I haven't got a life?

I should hope not!! I have recently returned from a week in Greece, I would reccommend it to anyone. As it happens a guy that I work with went to the same resort last year, so did the drummer from our band. He's off there again in September. The resort is Argassi on the island of Zykanthos.

I've been quite busy playing with the band, we played three times in two weeks in Lemington Spa - three different venues, picking up some new followers on the way.

I'm in the middle of importing a Toyota Yaris from Holland at the moment, which isn't going to plan. The delivery date keeps on slipping, even though I've parted with all the cash - I am eagerly awaiting the reply to my last correspondance. I hope things don't have to get nasty. Any solicitors out there?

I'm off camping for the first time in years next weekend, should be a laugh!! I bought a new tent which has been up in the back garden most of the week, it even got rained upon, a test that it passed with flying colours!!

Hi Bassman.

Had to check out the homepage of a fellow Genesis fan. I'm actually more of a Gabriel fan. I haven't actually bought a Genesis album since The Wind and Wuthering. I have been to see Genesis in concert in recent years (not sure which tour). I am anxiously awaiting the new Gabriel album, "UP", and a new tour. He hasn't been around here since 1993. (Canada) Do you like Tony Levin? Chris Squire?

Well, just popped in to say hi. I'll see you in the 'other' forum. smiley - winkeye TM has a lyric contest going. I'm already stumped

Hope you have good weather on your camping trip. smiley - smiley

Where do I find the lyric contest. I'm a bit of an anorak for things like that. There's a comedy TV game show called "Never Mind The Buzzcocks" over here, that features a round where the teams have to guess the next line to a lyric - which can be quite fun. There's also the undecipherable lyrics round, where the teams have to guess what the hell an artist is actually singing. A good example would be Into The Valley, by the Skids. Which is probably a bit before your time but none the less indecipherable!

Sorry forgot to answer ref Tony Levin & Chris Squire. I'm a monster fan of Chris Squire, although I've only got a couple of albums that he's played on. I recently read a review of a tripple neck bass that he used to play!!

I'm also in to Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Mark King (Level 42), Cass Lewis (Skunk Anansie), John Wetton (King Crimson, UK, Asia,) Jean Jacques Burnel (The Stranglers) to name but a few. I went to an audience with JJ Burnel at the Bass Centre in London last October, a great evening. A chance to meet one of my heroes.

I see you found the lyric contest in "Out of the macninery". smiley - smiley I've seen Chris Squire play with Yes a half dozen times, or so. He used the triple bass, and ,yes, he used all 3 necks! He is an awesome presense on stage. I've got to try to find a really obscure lyric for TowelMaster. I don't have any solo stuff from the other members, only Peter Gabriel.

Take care.

I saw Yes once at the Hippodrome in Bristol, on the Drama tour - Nov 1980 I think, with Trevor Horn and Jeoff Downes from The Buggles replacing Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman respectively. I thought they were great. I've still got the programme at home somewhere, although the tour T-shirt is long gone.
