Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans)

For the past decade and more i've painted. Over the past years this has turned to a bizarre intensity where i will gladly spend from 11pm (where my mum disappears to bed and i can go downstairs for the widescreen tele) and 4am-ish (basically when it begins to turn light and the sky goes a deep blue color) hunched over a paint desk with a daylight bulb to guide my way.
This works at five hours a night. Now imagine doing that five nights a week. For one it leaves your back a mess (i need a message person type in a morning) and eye sight crippled till just after neighbours.

So what have i gained from all this. Well my minitures are stunning and i regularly paint models for a friend (although there rather slow coming due to distractions) and i am soon setting a shop up on ebay.

Yet theres something that i need to do to prove im good. Games day is where the best miniture painters in Britain gather and display there models. Theres 11 categories i can enter, each with 3 prizes (gold, silver, bronze) plus the best in show - the prize for which is a £15000 sword.

Now i dont expect to win anything this year. the level of the enteries is truely stunning. But im wondering whether i can get through to the judges pick at all. Last year there were only a few enteries in some categories.

I think its time i gave it a go.

Good luck, I can kind of identify with that I've cross stitched until I can see and I have it so close to my face that I've pricked my nose with the needle, we all need our hobbies

Go for it tinker, it's the old saying "You got to be in, to win" and as with anything like this, it improves your skill!

My fingers are usually smeared with paint of various colors.

Problem is the stuff i paint for my mate is usually bright colors (bright green his current fave) so if i say i have painted his model just left it at home, he can guess by my hands

Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans)

update:

Stayed up from 1am till about 8am painting a single model as a test peice (as in, its just try try the color scheme and isnt the actual entery).
Ill provide a link later for a clear image of the model ive used. Its colors are a brown for its leather chest armour, silver for the metal, and then yellow.
I choose yellow because it is the hardest color to paint over black. Suffice to say i think ive done the model justice enough ready to start on another ten in the next day or so.

My second entery will be heavily manga based, so if anyone has any bright manga/anime robot images (yellows and whites preferably) could you please get in touch with me.

update of the update:

I have learnt how to create a see-thru plastic strand or varying degrees of thickness. This means my manga guy is going to have plenty of cables and i have also decided to enter a wild dog
