Dear AlsoRan80,
I like people to make up their mind about me through my posts. For me, on this site, my posts define who I am to the people who inhabit this strange place. The interesting thing is they will come to different conclusions on different threads of what my personality is which I quite like.
Who I am in real life is irrelevant overall...unless I can use my knowledge to help someone out on site by answering a question or a problem for them.
And does it really matter who I am in real life?

No, but it has been said many times that I look like Nicholas Cage.

Thank you for your reply.
In fact I find this website not "strange" but one which has given me so much friendship, compassion and care and I find it difficult to chat to "..." even if there are three of them.
So I shall bid you adieu.

I'm sorry for your suffering.

Hopefully, Obama's choice of him is just to keep the nutters quiet for a bit.<
Hi 3Dots. I know this is an older post but I started reading The Decline and Fall etc and there was something apropos to this thread.
'Notwithstanding the fasionable irreligion which prevailed in the age of the Antonines, both the interest of the priests and the credulity of the people were sufficiently respected. In their writings and conversations, the philosophers of antiquty asserted the independent dignity of reason; but they resigned their actions to the commands of law and of custom. Viewing, with a smile of pity and indulgence, the various errors of the vulgar, they diligently practiced the ceremonies of their fathers, devoutly frequented the temples of the gods; and sometimes condescending to act a part of the theater of superstition, they concealed the sentiments of an atheist under the sacerdotal robes.'
In other words, don't worry about Warren, it's just politics.

I think it would be naive to think so in this case.
And I don't think Obama is naive enough to think Warren would serve well as a sop to the credulous.

I think that Warren would like Billy Graham's job as pastor to the President. He might rock the boat a bit but not too hard.

Was Obama trying to annoy everyone as much as possible?
Rick Warren and Gene Robinson at the same event.
