Restricting Coursework
HonestIago Posted Oct 6, 2006
Watching the news this morning a friend pointed out an interesting problem with restricting geography coursework.
One of standards in the geography National Curriculum is that students be able to devise a fieldwork question and appropriate ways to answer the question, go out and do the fieldwork and then write up a report, all independently. This is seen as a major part of the geography course because geography is supposed to be about going out into the world and getting answers. Scientists can get their answers in labs, geographers can't.
How on earth are they going to work this now?
