Hi Claire,
I am finding maintenance really hard, went to weigh in last night and put on a pound, which doesn't seem a lot, but I can not manage to stay the same each week, I put on a couple of pounds then drop a couple of pounds. Don't suppose you have any tips?

Hi hun,
I seem to be having the same sort of problem but I seem to keep losing, have only been trying to maintain for about 3 weeks now but have lost a pound each week! The only advise I can offer is to be patient, I've been told to increase what I eat slightly each week until I get to a level where I stabalise - trouble is that I go to the gym 6 times a week and therefore burn off alot of cals each night - I seem to be eating for England!! They don't seem to metion the maintenance part of the diets before you start (I'm assuming here that that's true for WW but sorry if I have that wrong!) but it is really hard! The last thing we want to do is put any back on, after all it isn't easy losing it in the first place .
I guess we will both just have to keep on keeping on, I'm sure that pesky pound will be gone again by next week so I wouldn't worry about it too much - I think it's probably natural to fluctuate a bit too. One thing I have started to do is to go back to writing down what I've eaten - I did that when I started this diet lark and found it helpful so I'm hoping that it will work again! I'll keep you posted!

Hi thought i may try and find you again!! Sorry about what happened on my site, i didn't want you to think i had forgot you i hadn't. I have been trying for ages now to get o talk to some of the girls off the Ed site but failed miserably, untill that conversation.
So you seem to be finding maintence difficult. Perhap a change in doing so many aerobic types of exercise may help. Do you do any weights at all? I found i also got addicted to the gym until i took my exams and then taught myself and earnt a few quid into the bargin. ever thought about doing that. Diane xxxx

Hi Diane, no problem, lovely to hear from you again!
I do a mix of CV and resistance work - I'm lucky as my gym seems to be quite good in that the instructers keep a close eye on you and encourage a new programme every 6 weeks or so which for me is fantastic as I do get bored doing the same thing very quickly!
Funny you should mention a career change as I was thinking about looking into that - my job at the moment is desk based and by midday I'm itching to get moving and to be honest I really think I would love to learn more about nutrition etc and try and help people get to where they want to be fitness/health wise. Did you find it hard to change career - how long did it take you to train?
Loads a love

Hi ya Claire, well all together it took me about 2 years but that was built up of many part time courses. I started out by doing my RSA in exercise to music and built it up from there. At times it felt like a hard slog but worth it in the end. You have to pay out quite a bit for exams and courses, insurance etc but it does not take you long to recoup that back, as most places pay about £20 a class. I could not imange doing anything else and now it is not very often that i teach exercise, in fact i am always being hindered to take classes, but i don't want to as i enjoy the nutrition side too much. I get very fustrated in the gym helping others when i would rather be there doing it myself...selfish i know. Diane xxx

Excellent, in my opinion you have to do what makes you happy as life comes up and bites you way too often so you may aswell ensure you enjoy your work! I think I definately need to look into this a bit more as I really do need a change and I have a long working life ahead of me!
By the way, have you heard from BigEric recently? Just wondering how his incredible weight loss is going - perhaps I'll try and find him on here.
Take care - stay away from hehe!

It sounds like you would really enjoy that type of a career go for it! I speak to Big E via a daily e mail. He is doing great and an inspiration to us all! I am hopefully meeting him in August. If you go to my page by clicking my name you will see a message somewhere on there. She doth protest too much. Go into that and click one of his replys with his name above and that should take you to his space i think. Diane xxx
