Hello
I have never owned any of the little models but they are great, can not believe how much you paid for them.
I have loved Beetles since I was really little, don't know where I got it from because, all my family weren't very struck by them, I think its because they have got character and each one looks cheeky and different in their own little way.
I bought my first as soon as I turned 17, had been saving for years for it, even though I couldn't even drive then, it was a pink, 1973, 1303s, and I loved it. I only got rid of it just under a year ago. I wouldn't be parted from it, and it really wasn't road worthy anymore, I was gutted, although it didn't go to the big scrape yard in the sky; a friend of mine bought it and turnned it into Baja beetle (so it lives on). I have had another since then, but stuck with the 1303 model, I must say I prefer driving the ones with the MacPherson strut suspension (Although the older one do look better).
I had a concept beetle which was great, I had it lowered, put spoilers on the front and back, and had 17in alloys on it, it was a real head turner at the shows, although it wasn&'t as much fun drive as the older beetles, but it was nice not having defrost the inside of the window screen come winter.
Next project is going to be a camper, but need to get some funds together first, as a lot of the cheaper ones are rot boxes.
Talk soon
