Friday Song Quiz 4

Post 1

Icy North

I ran out of time to compile something new, so it's another song quiz today. smiley - smiley

Below you'll find a number of words taken from a number of song titles - all were top 3 singles in the UK. But I've removed a word from each song (the removed words are all different, and do not appear elsewhere in the list).

You need to rearrange this list into a number of song titles (I'm not telling you how many this time), adding a new word to make each.

Finally, take the words you've added, and rearrange them to make another song title.

Good luck! smiley - ok

Gnomon - time to move on

The ones that should give it away are devil and ghost. There can't be too many songs with either of those words in the title.

Devil Woman
Ghost Riders in the Storm

No more takers for this? I thought it might be a little easier with those keywords.

A few clues:

All the songs were written by Americans, but not all were hits on that side of the Atlantic.

One is a Billie Holiday classic, revived in the 1980s.

One is a Motown song sung by a Canadian, and became a Northern Soul classic in the 1960s.

On reflection, I don't think the song title 'Downtown' fits, as it's just a single word.
