h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As we approach the UK’s Bonfire Night celebrations, it’s customary that I plug the Lewes Bonfire event, and invite you all to guess whose effigies are going to be burned this year.

If you’re new to this, then I’ll summarise briefly. Lewes in East Sussex is an old town with a rather unusual and somewhat riotous way of celebrating Guy Fawkes or Bonfire Night on November 5th. A number of ancient bonfire societies each parade through the town in traditional costume, holding aloft lighted torches and parading a huge effigy of someone who deserves to be and indeed is ceremoniously burned. You’ll have spotted effigies of David Cameron and Jeremy Clarkson in there, from the 2015 event. The 2016 celebration had four effigies of Donald Trump, and one of the current UK Government.

The identities of the effigies are a closely-guarded secret until the day, with much speculation about who will be involved, so this is your chance to guess who will be burned in 2017. Enter your predictions below, including - this is important - the way you think they may be caricatured. I’ll award points after the event.

One I feel more confident about is the England cricketer Ben Stokes ( he was arrested following a violent nightclub brawl following a recent match and, despite being one of the best all-rounders in the world, he’s been dropped for the forthcoming Ashes series in Australia)
