Trying to find the opposite of Welcome.
You see, the thing is, there doesn't seem to be one.
It´s not 'hostile' or 'unwelcome', not the negative opposite at all.
It´s one word I'm looking for, which expresses the fact that simply having my own page at this site in which I can write about my warped mind and how it peceives things, makes ME feel welcome.
To this h2g2 community then. YOU don´t have to feel welcome,
You're not welcomed actively by me because I'm not there right now.
I´m not welcomed, because it´s my page, my home here.
What is it? This word? For want of the real thing, I have deducted my own, simply flipping around the word 'welcome'. Hence, the title.

It is possible to make a visitor feel welcome in absentia (witness the popularity of "WELCOME" mats). If it's any consolation, you did succeed in making me feel slightly unwelcome. What's wrong with "unwelcome", anyway?
Strange that door mats with messages like "Get off my property" or simply "Piss Off !" aren't easier to come by; as they would seem to represent a much more common sentiment.

sometimes you have to welcome people even if your not there. dont throw out the mat. life would be very boring if we chose all the people we talked to. sometimes it's good to let them choose you.

"Throwing out the mat" is usually taken to mean extending a welcome.

Not really in this case, oh john-the-gardener-san,
in this case I finally decided because of your remark about being welcomed in absentia to kick out Matt, a far relative of mine who had definitely outstayed his welcome at my place.
Any way, I did try to write a large welcome sign in ASCII text, but it came out reading 'WELL BETTER IF YOU DON`T COME'. I haven´t quite got this hospitality thing down yet.

he might have a very large doorway or you could just paint it onto the door. no-one will miss it anyway.

A very large doorway might do the trick, but writing in small letters might work as well.
Then again, why not simply buy a big welcome mat, and buying another one, custom made, simply with the word "NOT" on it. A welcome mat and a not mat.
