Hi I Love Queen.

As someone in the PR forum said, Americans (Boo! Hiss smiley - winkeye) don't really know what Spaghetti Bolognese is. Could you make it clear smiley - smiley

Yes, actually, I do.

It was only posted here a week ago, so it hasn't even had time to be voted on by the miners. Only two miners have commented on it, (in hindsight the summer was a lousy time to launch - too many of the miners are enjoying the sunshine on beaches), and I Love Queen hasn't indicated whether or not they want to make changes to it, or leave it as it is.

I saw the recommendation by spelugx on the SOG page, and I Love Queen has moved it to the AWW. So until s/he either leaves or gives you permission, it should stay in the AWW. smiley - smiley

Jodan - do you really not know what Spag Bol is?

Ok - here goes. Get a large saucepan, and a large frying pan. Also gather together a lot of water, some salt and some spagetti. For the sauce you will need onions, (which you chop), red or green capsicum peppers, (which you also chop), garlic, (which you chop or crush or otherwise mangle a bit) minced meat (beef or lamb, not pork or poultry), and some tinned or fresh tomatoes. You will also need pepper and some mediterranianish herbs like basil, oregano, marjoram and thyme. If you have any spare wine that is good, and oddments like worcester sauce are also cool.

Brown the mince, then put it in a dish and use some of the fat from the mince to fry the onions, peppers, garlic in that order. Then add the fried mince, the wine, and the pepper and the herbs, and let the thing bubble for at least half an hour.

I assume you know how to cook pasta.

Finally put the spagetti on the plate in a great big circle like a wreath, put the bolognese sauce on the plate in the middle, and sprinkle copious amounts of freshly grated parmesan on the the lot.

Drink the rest of the bottle of wine with the meal.

Enjoy!

It is supposedly Italian - Bolognese sauce is allegedly from Bologna. But Spag Bol is definitely British!

What on earth is SOG? I don't want my spag bol article moved there if I don't know what it is. So, until someone informs me of what SOG is, spag bol is staying here.

The SOG stand for the Spaced Out Guide. It is a store of entries people write on h2g2 , in particular humourous entries. I go around looking for entries i really like to be added, and other people submit entries to me. To find out more, simply go to U218740.smiley - smiley

The main differences between SOG and the UnderGuide are as follows

SOG is the more or less unaided work of spook - the UnderGuide is semi-official, and involves a team of volunteers called Miners and also the BBC employees who manage the site.

SOG appears to accept anything regardless of quality, on the basis that rejection is the worst thing that can happen to a writer - entries get into the UnderGuide by being voted for (off-site by Miners) on the basis that recognition is the best thing that can happen to a writer.

It is unclear whether or not they are mutually exclusive - but since there are quality criteria for the UnderGuide, (vague though they are), and (the last I heard) there are no quality criteria for SOG, at best they overlap.

Regards

Ben

smiley - erm, ben, no-one asked for diferences between the SOG and UG. no-one asked for anything about the UG. in fact, the UG does not appear on the AWW page has not yet gained official basis in the structure of h2g2.
