Great entry- only one problem though.
You mention the buttery bread mashing about in your head- surely it's worth mentioning that absolutely fantastic moment when the hot beans melt the butter and it drips onto your tongue .....
Excuse me, I think I need a cold shower...

How could I not review this one?!? Well written, well researched, and something of a masterpiece. Wrong-headed, mind, but taste is really very much a matter of, well, taste.
The true afficionado does of course use HP beans, which should be fried along with onions, and chilli sauce. White bread only for the toast, and buttered is good (NOT margarine!).
But, hey, why not go for the ultimate experience and have both dishes for different mealtimes? Beans are like sex and money, some is good, more is better!
More wind to your sails, sir.

Thanks for all your lovely comments! As this is a more creative article (!), I will move it off peer review and into the Underguide. I would hate to loose it completely, as it has provoked a lot of great postings!!
Time for beans!
