Is it me or are other people experiencing problems on this site with regards to the Front Page to Preferences bar?

Do you mean you can't see the buttons, Opti? I've had that problem before - try clearing the cache of your browser, that normally clears it up

nope its not that 
its the fact that when surfing h2g2 sometimes i come across an unknown error has occurred and i think my space button dissapears.

The 'unknown error' comes up quite often, but should go away if you refresh the page. Does your 'my space' button get replaced with one that says 'front page'?

It was doing that this afternoon.. online, offline for a couple of hours. I just did as you said and hit the refresh button to resume ing

Ah, so it was a bug, Opti. It sounds like it was signing people out once in a while, which explains why you were getting the 'unkown error' regularly. Just one of those things
