Oooh, that's right, I still need to make a cake for my aunt's birthday tomorrow.

If she does she'll probably be delighted. 
Oh, update: my aunt is back from hospital. Apparently it was her tablets which caused the lack of red blood cells they found.
M-i-l has been operated and is considerably fine. Will probably have to have another OP at some later point.

Glad the sick folk are mostly sorted out. 
The cake? Well, it's just easier to swallow now, isn't it? 
Hope you and Birthday Boy have a wonderful rest of your visit.
(Another birthday tale: at my -- that's MY birthday lunch, I got a silly fortune cookie with something about giving advice. My mother got one that said there was a nice 
in her future. Go figure.

Those messages in fortune cookies don't really make sense very often, do they?

When my youngest sister was two or three - before she could read - she once cracked open her fortune cookie and declared in solemn tones that it told her to "Be careful in plastic boats". Sounds like sage advice to me!
