Sho - employed again!

ah thanks. Kick.
Yes, that slogan is one of the reasons I can't bear to go in the place. (although their 100% cotton beach towels we got two years ago are fab)

I often go there, my small son is in constant 'need' of new clothes, and it's the only shop whereI can afford the prices for clothes he likes and will actually wear.

for the kids you can't complain. However between Aldi (my favourite shop), Takko (good quality t-shirts) and my trusty sewing machine, I don't get to Kick much.

The slogan really puts me off.

No Tacko here, and Aldi doesn't cater for grown boys (they were fab when the boys were still small, though) and I can't sew.

Sho - employed again!

it's just a matter of doing it
I'm in the process of building a webbie to show off my sewing (never one not to blow my own trumpet) and then you can see where chutzpah can take you!

And yes, while they're relatively small, Aldi does cover them pretty well. I bought them a dress each, probably made by small kids in China - so I'm trying to find out now - which cost waaay less than I'd pay for the zip and a bit of thread. smiley - sadface

You can call me TC

I'm still trying to figure out Post 1. Was this an ad for a German bar in Germany, or an Irish bar in Germany, or for a German bar in Ireland?

Who is it directed at?

Country Confusion?!?

It's an ad for a bar (nationality?) in Germany. I guess the target group are the 16 to 20 year olds with too much money. smiley - erm

Late teens, huh? That might explain the poor spacing. Meant to look like internet chat, perhaps? Fast, casual typing.
In my work, we are used to mingling languages. German is used for musicological words, French for bowing terms, Italian for most anything else (performance directions like how fast, and mood). Unless the piece was written in the "nationalistic" period. Then everyone makes up new terms in his own language. (The Germans are the most long winded!)

As far as ads go, in my neighborhood many businesses have signs in Spanish only. Lots of others in Spanish and English both, but duplicated, not mingled together!

Bomdon - keeper of cobwebs

Had to share this one I just heard on the Steven Irwin's stand-up comedy.

It's a good thing a lot of people speak foreign languages otherwose those people will have no one to talk to.

Sometimes I talk to myself fluently in languages that I am unfamiliar with...
... just to screw with my sub-conscious
