..a friend told me about the Thornborough Henges, and that they're in danger of vanishing from the landscape
Now chances that I will ever be able to go and see them are already slim, but if the quarrying isn't stopped, they go towards zero
So now I ask all my friends to sign the petition
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/TimeW1/
If you want information about the site and what it means for the UK, please read here:

I signed the petition after I had heard about it, I'd probably even donate money if it wasn't such a hassle with transferring money to England, but then I could save that money for a trip to Thornborough, who knows , with your help it will maybe still there in a couple of years and I'll yet get the chance to go there

Thanks Reef, that's great
I don't think it coulkd be mentioned in the post, there are probably rules against it, and probably rightly so, or else everybody would come with a similar request, but can you tell your friends about it ?

You could ask Titania to put it in Announcements, Make an Apage with a link and submit it, that's all I can think of

Thanks both
Ancrene, I don't think I can do a guide entry about it, I only know what's on the website, and that the local politicians have decided to pass it to the Deputy Prime Ministers office. That's not enough for a guide entry, I'm afraid.
Reef, not sure about that, I'll try here

Signed too.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention B'Elana! I agree it would be great to publicise it more widely on hootoo.
I care passionately about these ancient stone sites. I was born very close to some on the North Downs in Kent. Visiting any of these monuments is a really special and magical experience. I have now been to quite a few in the UK. We owe it to future generations and the whole world to respect there importance and cultural meaning!

Hi Bel! Done and dusted - thanks for the info - we have a second home, not a million miles from the site.

Sites like that are one of the reasons I want to visit the UK.
I can't believe they are destroying this just for gravel
