Velvet pads secure
Your paws on butter unseen
Yet felt in pleasure

Ever so sure footed
Even when on slack tightrope
You crawl on your stomach

Your courage knows no
Boundaries apart from those
That are unseen Scent

Whiskers and your ears
Both show signs of your fears
Pulled back in attack

Allegiances are forged
With the promise of fresh food
Only at mealtimes

smiley - cat
Reminds me -
My kitty would get on the counter and into the butter if it was accidently left out at night. Seconds before dozing off I would hear feet *thump* as they hit the floor after a taste.

It reminds me of why the ex-wife got the cats; they're all creatures of the night. I've always been a dog lover myself.

He chases sticks performing tricks
He's barking mad with eyes so sad
Now playing dead upon my bed
My best friend's with me 'til the end

Good portrait in words, and they are so fickle these felines, forging allegiances only at meal times then returning to snootiness for the rest of the day....

part one by the way nice to see you fari

Cat Crepuscular
Sleek silent killer you are
Forever merciless

Hunting for pleasure
Then playing games with your prey
Before you slay them

A snap of the neck
Then tossed up to the heavens
Meal shaken not stirred

Then you lie purring
Eyes forever watching movement
Perfectly stil

Nicely done, ltp, on both counts. You've deftly encapsulated the nature and mannerisms of cats. Hmm... Could you put Essence of Feline in a bottle?

Thought I'd drop you a line of encouragement

Yes, ltp, I'd been hearing about how the Beeb decided to kill GetWriting ever since you brought it to our attention. Shame to see it go, yet you know that once a large organization sets out on such a path, it's bloody difficult to alter course, let alone stop it from doing something stoopid. Too much inertia. Too few champions of sense and sensibility. Usually comes down to monetary considerations rather than what's good and right. Just another reason I don't care much for 'bean counters' in a company. They may be decent induhviduals, yet they seem to (as a rule) have no heart for the finer things available in life. "Gimme the bottom line. If it doesn't fit in budget, it's got to go, because we're not changing the budget."
smiley - erm
As for where all that talent and wit will move to, we've yet to see. I don't think any of the myriad members of GetWriting will just disappear into the Void. They'll simply find a new venue for their craft. I've been tempted to regenerate each of my 'published' offerings right here on HooToo, in my Personal Space, so they're still available on-line. I could regenerate one every few weeks until I've caught up, then keep on adding as time rolls on. You've done it, so it's not unheard of. I also appreciated the fact you posted your work in multiple places and provided links.
smiley - cool
Anyone who's serious about crafting prose and poetry for an audience will find a way to do so. The fact the Beeb originally provided an outlet for us budding writers was nice. As long as the main sites still exist, I think you'll find all manner of works cropping up. Otherwise, it'll take a bit of internet searching to find new talent.

just parking

With shock comes a feeling sinking,
inside head chest slide into gut,
Awareness heightened frightened
rabbit freezes in the road
It shows , fear ,stiff as a iron rod
while I in panic mode
Shiver ,my insides feeling odd ,

It may appear ,to the onlooker ,
I’m a whiter shade of pale but,
I am stunned or am I turned to lead ,
like bleeding inside ,a sort of ,dread
Pain that does not hurt , its
like a lift plummets down my throat,

Then stops mid floor ,blown a fuse
but the sensation remains ,strange ,
long after in the brain, drained of all its blood ,
Stands silent bemused ,and confused,
And some wherein between ,
the rational part of me is in a dream of sorts,
Stopped between station in a tunnel ,

Then suddenly coming back.
The world around shakes
Uncontrollable ,inconsolable
I cry a little

Silky-smooth silhouettes effects ,
can be so sensual ,
With a certain kind of uncertainty ,
all dainty like a nun

She undress’s with a casualness ,
behind lace curtains, one finds
Blinds redefine detailed outlines ,
black lace replaces white cotton

Shadowed details regale ,
soft edges no marks or blemish skin
Begins fingering a single stocking ,
it smoothness so soothing ,so satifying
Reminds her of the moisturizer
,
slipping through her fingers , refined,
Like a predatory cat stretches before the kill
she reaches for the switch, but untill
It all goes black ,and she back away
This sight I behold before my eyes
Far far better than tomorrows sunrise

I see we used to play thus down by the river we lay on the banks,
And gave our thanks to natures ,
natural resources of course played,

There part ,hearts all a flutter our bodies
would stutter and stammer,
As we hammered away ,
hardly a rest as I breathed in the sight of your breasts,

I felt kind of funny when the taste of you honey ,
so smooth yet so runny,
But the feel of the water , that was ticklish,
the smell of plants like liquorish ,

That we bruised as our flesh compressed together ,
and got crushed in the rush,
In the reeds as our needs spilled the seeds ,
pollen was as golden as the moments

The sun shone , and that longing
to belong was stronger than ever can be imagined
So we succumbed to the sounds all around
the birds in the trees serenaded us dared us

To embrace as we raced in our ardour and fervour
A fever took us further, faster
Master you I must since that musky smell was telling me
Compelling me to comply to,
Your most innermost wishes
your kisses enslaved me made me like a zombie
I tried to flee

But was completely helpless I confess
I enjoyed this miss ,no mistake I took all you gave

No grave did we dig yet as we pressed together
like hand into gloves our love was cemented.
Set into stone maybe from this game that we played
By the lake you made me Complete like
Concrete needs the sand

I now want the feel of your hand in mine
Entwined like the vine that
Grew round the willow ,
your body my pillow as each night
I sleep the sleep of the innocent
Content and fulfilled by
the thrill of your mind and that body and mine
together for all time.
Subliminal this dream it would be a criminal act if I awoke now

Child of the night

Winters solace
Long drawn out shadows
lead towards
skeletal trees
Turning to rust
Flaming red sunsets.

Silent night skie's
Grey clouds on white,
Stars out in day light,
Late bird calls mid morning,
Solitary warbling,

From dark dank nights,
Mist over meadow
Not far in the distance,
Just out of sight
