What is the Post Readers' Forum?

Before we reveal the answer to this cryptic conundrum, let's say what a Post Readers' Forum isn't.

It isn't a plot by the h2g2 Post Team to control your hearts and minds – it will remain completely independent of their influence [Does this sound OK to you, Rich?]

It isn't the place to say "Lil/Tonsil/Gnomon, I really enjoyed your poem/cartoon/column." You should post this at the foot of the poem/cartoon/column entry itself.

It isn't the place to say "I'm really unhappy with the way you insulted my grandmother in your editorial." Best drop an e-mail to the Post Team, using the "Editorial Feedback" link on the front page of each h2g2 Post issue.

It isn't the place to ask "Is anyone planning a meet up in Slough/Zanzibar/Kiev?" You'll find all that out at the Community Events page. On the other hand if you want to see if anyone's interested in planning a meet then you might want a wider audience for that – try Askh2g2, maybe.

It isn't the place to say "Read my great cricket column in The Post this week!" Rabid self-promotion should be confined to journals (and that includes you, Rich).

It isn't the place to say "lettuce spry – teh holy hoover is nigh zen ." Try Miscellaneous Chat, or alternatively Gnomon's personal space (no, don't! - just kidding!)"

This is old hat, dead parrot kind of 'stuff' a bit like walking into a room with those dreaded white sheets BBC period pieces like to use as props to get across the idea that this room is unused, has been for ages..check the cobwebs in the cornices if you don't believe me...smiley - laugh

The above quote has the names of some of the movers and shakers of the noohootoo and my post is not a cast aspersion at them (far from it) but rather a bit of a nudge to update this intro.
If it's just another 'thing' that will get addressed at some stage in the future then everything is fine.
But if it's not then I think this musty old intro needs some tarting up to reflect the vibrancy of this new era(we are of course talking vibrancy and renewal aren't we?)

My 2 cents worth(way too lazy to bring up the full emotie count or remember the code for 2c...)

Hi Keith,

Yes, it needs a refresh, doesn't it? smiley - smiley

I set this up as a place for post readers to gather and chat, independent from the influence of any editorial control.

If people wish to see it continue, then I will drop out, as I'm now a Guide Editor. I'll be happy to edit this page to anything you suggest, or indeed I can hand over the editing rights to anyone who would be interested in continuing with it smiley - smiley
