I have researched this phenonena. The 'Stupid US' is the basis from where its power is born. As an Australian outsider who has visited the US numerous times, I can say categorically, that it is sheer butt headed stupidity, ignorance and blind faith the 'truth' (known to outsiders as propoganda) that perpetuates the airwaves via television that empowers the US empire. And to protect the 'asset' that this stupidity is, the political elite do NOT allow 'stupidity' from any other part of the world to infiltrate their carefully hatched society. It is a perfect plan. Do not allow the 280 million inhabitants to think! It may bring down the empire!

interesting observations...but is it really the political elite who pull the strings ?

tend to think it is the business barons, using their political puppets who call the shots.

indeed it is in their best interests to keep the majority of the population ignorant. And I tend to think it is ignorance not stupidity that allows them to retain their control. When such literary gems like the "Globe" or "National Enquirer" can have such a high readership..can be taken as gospel by their readers.. tends to speak volumes about the population.

But then..most Americans live a life of relative ease..compared to the rest of the world...they feel superior..by the might (size) of their armed forces... the economic power... think because they can clean up at international competitions..it somehow makes them superior to every one else... not stopping to consider the top 1 % of 280 million is 2,800,000 compared to the top 1% of a nation of 10 million is only 100,000. Obviously you can achieve at higher levels due to the sheer volume... the rest of the country can exist in blissful ignorance.. assured of their "God given" place in the world..as the mightiest nation on earth.. imposing their will (as dictated by big business)

Without becoming bigoted, this is all true. However, it also implies that above the mass 'stupid US citizens', there are some extremely intelligent thinkers who _know_ exactly how to keep 280 million Americans happy. They have no social security. 1% of their poulation own 80% of world wealth. Their army is one of the biggest and worst-trained in the world. They have lost more wars per military head than any other power, including tsarist Russia. Yet they still remain happily oblivious. That implies some very intelligent being sitting behind a desk working it all out.

The government is everything but stupid. They are just greedy, they wan't you to think they are stupid, they want a president who can be perceived as "too dumb to be evil" No power is in the presidents hands, he has to go through alot of different things in order to get his way aprroved. This is where everybody is smart. They just use the president to make them seem like they are all the same in the government, stupid. When in reality they are very smart. They use that intelegence to rob us with out eyes on the president.
