Need to go get some. Invasion Theraphy that is. All will become clear (if you live in the backwater that is Auckland in the backwater that is New Zealand). Otherwise you'll just have to wait until I get around to writing a revealing journal entry. Suffice to say Invasions are all good.

Is that like where you invite a lot of aliens to invade the earth with shrinks?

I tend to agree. I also think that terrorism is seriously underrated as a tool of the revolution.

no, no, terrorism is seriously over-rated. Personally, I think strategic assaults with flowers and chocolates, perhaps followed by candlelit dinners would achieve so much more. Oh wait, maybe I'm thinking of relationships .... yeah that sounds right. That would explain why my last girlfriend left me after I hijacked her car, kidnapped her cat and threatened to blow up the World Trade Center for Valentines Day. Christ, this explains alot. I guess then I shouldn't have pressed my demands against the capitalist running dogs of imperialism by sending them love letters, and hiring a hotel room for a night of nooky - although that did mean that the Israelis gave back the Golan Heights. Gosh, I feel like such a fool.

If this has anything to do with APEC, then be careful. Any group of people pedantic enough to seal all the manhole covers probably know what you're up to already. Just by typing "APEC" right now, I have doomed myself to 6 months of surveillance followed by another 6 months down the bottom of a coal mine.
And incidentally, how are all the sewer-trolls supposed to get out?

It was totally unrelated to APEC - but we did meet some sewer-rats, in the form of people, or should I say men, working at the Rock, a radio station here in Auckland - I believe you have one of their lot in Wellington, so you've probably seen the ads (billboards and tv). It's a long story which i'll turn into a user page sometime soon I think, just to record it all somewhere for posterity.
My activist friends and I have compiled a list of Waihopai words which we reckon might trigger off phone and email taps, 'cos my phone clicks and whirrs an awful lot (although it cold just be the connection).
Police presence up here is immense. Apparently all the activists up here have received letters from the PM telling us that its for the good fo the country. Obviously I haven't made enough noise of late because mine must still be in the post. Whoever said activists weren't elite too was wrong. Anyway I did manage to get a trespass notice on Friday, my first in four years of non-violent direct action, so I framed it and put it up on the wall.

Yes, yes, we have "The Rock" here in Wellington; you can only assume their advertising agency has just woken from a cryogenic sleep of 50 years. I actually tried to listen to it once - I was horrified to find them playing The Clash (cool in a not-very-cool sort of way), but was then reassured by the predictable "Bad To The Bone", "The Boyz Are Back In Town" and "Cum On Feel The Noize" that followed. Naughty boys indeed.
So any for shenanigans against them you have my blessing.
(Hmmm. I don't think I've ever written "shenanigans" before. And now I've typed it twice. Talk about broadening my mind.)

I think there will be future shenanigans but personally I don't think I'll be breaking my trespass notice. Although there's lots more that can be done without actually stepping foot on their property. Hmmmmm.
Getting geared up for APEC now - this city is getting way too freaky - cops and army guys absolutely everywhere, its like living in the middle of the Police College - most of the police seem to be trigger happy new recruits too, which is quite a worry. Guess we'll be testing them a bit over the coming few days. Apparently I was on tv this morning, which is a bit odd. I hope I made sense. The media are going all ga ga over activists, trying to turn us into media darlings in some kind of vain hope that one of us will get the shit beaten out of us in a filmed confrontation with the police so that they can either come down hard on the police or come down hard on the protesters. Generally the cause, whatever it is, comes off about last when this kind of stuff happends. Instead of focusing on the issues, everyone focuses on the blood and guts. Grrrrr.
Oh dear, another long bitter post. I should go swallow some sugar
Key: Complain about this post
