We have just moved from Leith a couple of weeks ago having lived there for about 4 years We really liked our flat and the shops are not too bad either. The restaurants are better still so much so we travel back from Fife where we live now just for the food and the friendly service we always received. We've tried most of the places on the shore with great relish GOOD FOOD GOOD COMPANY what more could you wish for.
Leith is it's own community and looks to it's own, a separate place from Edinburgh. The council mistakenly beleive the whole area is Edinburgh sorry a LEITHER is a LEITHER and always will be. a great and illustrious pedigree second to none.

Couldn't agree with you more, and it's great to hear that you take the time to come back now and again. I must admit that we find it quite sad (putting it mildly) to be considered a district of Edinburgh, (e.g. when the council sends us our voting cards). One of the stories from before the so-called amalgamation is that Leith and Edinburgh had different Licencing laws - Edinburgh pubs shutting earlier than those in Leith. When time was called in Edinburgh, all the Patrons of the Boundary Bar in Leith Walk just stepped over a metal "dividing" bar in the floor and carried on being served !!
