chapstick...a sweet substance indeed.
the only problem being the addictive behavior of applying the smoothing substance at various times in the span of an hour.
chapstick addiction is not understood in the southern/warmer states in the usa- but a means of life to those who have expirenced by living in areas where a foot of snow landing on the ground causes no problem to daily life (and is normal, or atleast expected.)
i never leave home without my tube of chapstick (actually i have moved up the latter to carmex... a hard habit to kick) because i never know when it might be time for another coat.....
use your chapstick wisely......

Does saying "we don't have Chapstick in England" make England a bad place?

I don't think we have Chapstick as a brand, but there are other types of lip moisturisers called LipSyl and stuff like that.

chapstick (the brand) is the blanket term for anything like chaptick. (like bandaides or kleenexes..or in someparts of the country coke is the term for all soda products..) or something like that..
do people still suffer an addiction to the chapstick (but not chapstick) ?

Yes, it most definatly does make england an evil place indeed. Poor people, don't have chapstick...

keledy Posted Aug 2, 1999

we do have stuff *like* chapstick, but I haven't heard of anyone getting addicted to it. We are posh over here - we use the PROPER names for everything! Kitchen paper, fizzy drinks...
I wish I was american!

hohoho... I found something yesterday!
We were sorting out beneath the stairs when a found a small brown cylindrical tube lying tossed on the floor. It was a
CHERRY CHAPSTICK!
I haven't managed to become addicted to it yet, as it's old and dry, but yes, it does have a luuurvely taste.

keledy Posted Aug 5, 1999
((it was brown?? odd))
see- you do have cherry chapstick... it is lovely stuff- isn't it?
chapstick addiction
Lisa the Freak // Poet by the Toga Posted Aug 7, 1999
At least it wouldn't be so dry... What colour are the tubes of chapstick over where you are then? Mine was brown, as English peaople have this awful colour-coding thing: yellow for lemon, orange for orange (duh), blue for original, black for coal, etc, etc.

keledy Posted Aug 7, 1999
cherry is red.... yellow is carmex... green is minty.. blue is medicated... and black is plain.
