Heya! I thought I'd just pop over and say hi, only to discover that you are studying the same subject as me in my home city (though I'm doing my degree at Birmingham Uni).
I study clarinet and early voice, and I seem to have landed the title role of 'bass clarinettist of Brum Uni', or so it seems at the moment. I'm currently sitting here harmonising chorales, string quartets and Schubert songs, which I have to hand in tomorrow, unfortunately. My word, I hate Haydn. The Bach, maybe, Schubert I haven' even attempted yet. I think I'm in twouble...
Anyway, how are you? Apart from the obvious (Ask thread... 
).

that's so bizarre - you're studying the same subject as me in *my* home city!!! my mother lives in hall green, and i went to school at king edward's opposite the barber institute - i'm sure you've seen all the green uniforms (sorry!! i can imagine how annoying we must have been to the students)
i've just finished orchestrating a classical sonata movement for 9.30 tomorrow morning and came online to argue with the house manager about the fact that my best mate and i are freezing to death in our beds because they've switched the heating off in our building "for the summer". pah! mr wonderful has just sent me a very sweet email, but i fear i won't get to see him properly for another few weeks because he is stressing about finals. i am so confused about all this, but h2g2 has really helped...i'm sure the thread will still be going by then; in fact i think i've created a monster!!
anyway, thanks for your message and hopefully hear from you soon!

It's nice to have a question in Ask that we can all get out teeth into, and see what other people's views are, to be honest. There aren't as many as there used to be I'm sure [grumblegrumble].

We have the opposite heating problem- we have our on *all* the time. I don't think my window has been closed since I got back. But they're not too bad.
Ah well, I've got a Schubert song to do before nine o'clock, best get cracking!
